This month, learn about our new school outreach program, support our campaign to protect a key leatherback nesting beach in Costa Rica, and sign up for 2010 trips to the Caribbean's hidden gem, Trinidad & Tobago.
Class Is In!
We're excited to announce our new school program. Teachers can now find resources to teach about sea turtles in the classroom including engaging lesson plans written by teachers and fact sheets. Looking to get your class involved in a hands-on conservation project? Check out our affordable field trips to Costa Rica and Mexico. We have creative ways for students and groups to raise funds for turtle conservation. Our staff is also available for classroom presentations.
Trinidad & Tobago in 2010
You've never been to islands like Trinidad & Tobago. These two Caribbean gems offer a unique mix of culture, pristine coral reefs, and unparalleled leatherback nesting beaches like Grande Riviere. We are offering three departures in 2010 with The Pathmaster, one of the islands' most respected tour operators. The trips are $1,675 pp which includes hotels, guides, food, activities, most meals, in-country transportation, and a donation to local conservation efforts. Read the full itinerary here.
Tour Operators Unite to Protect Leatherbacks in Costa Rica
SEE Turtles is working with advocacy groups Pretoma and the Sea Turtle Restoration Project to prevent the downgrading of Las Baulas National Park in Costa Rica. Las Baulas is a critical nesting beach and there is legislation pending to reduce longstanding protections. We helped to organize 10 leading tour operators to oppose this change. Read about these progressive companies on our blog and express your support for Las Baulas here.
Stay tuned for more new 2010 trips to Costa Rica, Baja, and Trinidad & Tobago soon!
