PCC Turtle Tours

SEE Turtles is teaming up with Portland Community College to offer volunteer trips to Costa Rica and Baja California Sur, Mexico.  Any adult is eligible to attend one of these trips, which are led by SEE Turtles co-founder Brad Nahill.  The presentations are at the CLIMB Building on Water Street (near OMSI).

Baja Turtle Monitoring & Whale Watching

*New in 2013! Participate in a unique in-water green turtle conservation project in Magdalena Bay with local researchers.  We will camp on a small shell island and help check nets as well as kayaking in the Sea of Cortez. Also, spend two days interacting with Baja's unique "friendly" gray whales.

Date & Cost:

February 17-24, 2013.  $1,895 per person + PCC class fee (currently $139) (includes most expenses but not airfare, tips, or personal items).

Highlights:

  • Participate in a turtle research project
  • Camp in Magdalena Bay
  • See gray whales up close
  • Explore the city of La Paz
