Featured Partner - Grupo Tortuguero (Baja California Sur, Mexico)

An inspiring network of fishermen, community members, students, researchers, and others working together to protect Baja California Sur’s five species of sea turtles, Grupo Tortuguero has recently become an official Mexican non-profit organization. Founded eleven years ago by Jeff Seminoff and SEE Turtles’ Wallace J. Nichols, this group of dedicated individuals has become a major force for sustainable development in the region and is responsible for increasing turtle populations. Learn more about them here.

SEE Turtles News - New Free Volunteer Matching Service

We have just launched our newest feature that can connect you to sea turtle conservation volunteer programs across Mexico and Central America. Spend a week patrolling nesting beaches, working in hatcheries, and getting to know conservationists from around the world. Most projects charge a nominal registration fee and food and lodging. Come to our new volunteer page to fill out your preferences, and we’ll connect you to organizations that fit your needs.

Visit the Great Turtle Race!

Conservation International and National Geographic are hosting the 3rd annual Great Turtle Race. This year’s race includes commentary from members of Pearl Jam and REM and the turtles have Olympic swimmers like Amanda Beard as coaches. Check out the blog for a post from our Wallace Nichols today.
